This is an impressive, large-scale vintage Soviet-era holiday figurine of "Ded Moroz" (Grandfather Frost), the Soviet equivalent of Santa Claus. Standing at a substantial 50 cm (approx. 19.7 inches) tall, this piece was crafted using the traditional and highly collectible "spun cotton" (ватная игрушка) technique over a framework, combined with a molded face. He is dressed in his classic long winter coat, holding a birch-painted staff and carrying a red fabric sack for presents.
A fantastic feature of this specific item is the perfectly preserved original paper factory label on the bottom of the base. It proudly indicates it was made at the "Toy Factory in Rivne" (Фабрика детских игрушек г. Ровно, Ukrainian SSR), lists the size as 50 cm, and features handwritten production marks likely dating it to the late 1960s (RTU standard 1963).
